Waking Times

Scientists have been mystified by the pineal gland for centuries. As the brain and central nervous and endocrine systems were progressively unravelled by the anatomists, physiologists and biochemists, the pineal gland resolutely refused to yield up its secrets. Until recently the scientific community regarded it as having no function in man, being but a vestigial remnant from an earlier stage in evolution. However, in the last few years interest in the gland has reached a climax when no fewer than ten national and international conferences devoted entirely to unravelling the secrets of the mysterious pineal have been held around the world.

Location and description

Physically, the pineal is perhaps the smallest organ of the body. Such a minute structure has rarely, if ever, caused so much curiosity and commotion. It is a tiny grey white structure approximately ¼ inch long, weighing about 100 milligrams, and shaped like a pine-cone. It is located directly at the top of the spinal cord within the brain at the level where the head and neck are joined. It lies attached to the roof of the third ventricle (fluid filled canal) of the brain directly in line with the point between the eyebrows. It is the only structure in the brain, apart from the pituitary gland, which is not bilaterally symmetrical, lying right in the midline. This means that, except for these two glands, the two halves of the brain when it has been cut from front to back, are mirror images of each other, with each structure being duplicated, one for each half.

I have been listening and following RedIceCreations for about four years now and thought that I should repost an advert for it, for those who have not heard about or come across it yet. There really is no better online station out there for providing you with alternative radio and I highly recommend that you drop in, find an interview topic that sounds interesting and give it a listen.

redicecreations.com

I hadn’t published or updated this blog for quite a while, as I had been caught up doing other things  for a while. Having got back into listening to RedIceCreations and catching up with all the most recent interviews, I found myself this evening watching this interview below with Freeman. It’s a long one (just under thee and a half hours) but by far and away one of his best. If you are new to conspiracy theories, alternative truth and secret societies, much of this will be new to you and will probably go way over your head but I encourage you to have an open mind and see it through.

Note: I suggest ignoring the first couple of minutes until you actually get to Freeman speaking…

It’s here at last!! After over a year of painting in my spare time, my creative journey with ‘ Kokapelli ‘ is at an end and it’s time to share it with you all. Enjoy!

Wise words from Terrence McKenna…

Neil is sitting with teachers, priests, sages, shamans, physicians, scientists, seers, and healers from various religious, spiritual, medical, and scientific modalities as they weave a tapestry of concepts to help him on his path.

SERIES TWO

Episode 1

Four years ago I was plucked from my normal perception of the world and cast into a pit of questioning. It was as if I suddenly felt that the world really wasn’t quite right. The sort of feeling that starts in the heart, moves to your head and then slowly turns your stomach. The more I began to ask questions, the more I realized how one sided the world I had been living in had been. I had been given a perspective, a dollop of warm mash potato with very little flavor or texture and served on a white plate of reason.

I burrowed through the internet collecting YouTube videos and documents of interest, like I was a squirrel in the grips of a mad panic to collect food for the winter. I added links to my sites of other sites, started blogging, started attending seminars of esoteric subjects and created cartoons and illustrations that I submitted free of charge to alternative news media with the firm intent of participating in this new wave of consciousness.

Had there been a label warning me of the dangers of expanding my consciousness with information and the potential for creating a gap between friends and family, the question is, would I still have taken a bite from the forbidden fruit? Yes, without question. Not because I would want to hurt those close to me but because the desire to learn more, was a feeling that wouldn’t go away and the only way to feel better was to continue to  research.

Four years on and I feel a profound sense of connection to life and better yet, it’s with me more and more frequently. One of the most powerful tools I have found for maintaining a sense of groundedness (and it’s easy to go off the rails in the early stages of one’s awakening) is the work of Eckhart Tolle. His work on the Power of Now and his understanding of the ego, is truly liberating and I would recommend him to anyone looking to find or add peace to their lives. The one thing we all have in common, is the search or necessity for peace of mind.

And yet even after feeling that I have grown as an individual (and at the same time understanding that in fact I am not separate from anyone or anything) I still find myself walking head on into situations and mindlessly letting my ego run amuck. It’s curious to feel a sense of shame, like you’ve let yourself down by falling back into the old-self habits. But then something happens that never happened before. You forgive yourself. You let go of the past and reconnect with the present and that familiar sinking feeling ebbs away, like the evaporating vapour from morning dew.

The path that increasingly more and more people are finding themselves on, is one of awareness. The normal road of accepting the prescribed formula and reason for things happening in the world, no longer embodies integrity. The mainstream, scrapes layer upon layer of fear and disinformation across the bread of our lives, leaving a disheveled slice of reality. It is only when one realizes that behind you is a platter of soul-satisfying fruit and thirst-quenching wine, that one is able to switch life paths and connect with a far deeper awareness of reality.

There is another aspect to this transformation that is awkward and worth navigating through gently; words. The language I use now contains words that I never used to use before. Words like consciousness, energy, time-space, fractal and duality, are words that the average unconscious citizen rarely uses and it has been an eye-opening experience to watch people shut down when these terms are used to describe one’s experience of life. The invisible branding iron is whipped out, stamps the speaker and severs the connection of interest and understanding. Learning to use more colloquial definitions has become an increasing challenge, as has learning to avoid these subjects altogether with those not already walking the path of enquiry.

Love, patience, humility and gratitude are the coals that need gentle stoking in order to allow this train to leave the station, and it is worth considering that this great voyage we are about to embark on together, is not one that necessarily takes place wholly in the external world. For behind the eyes of the perceiver lye the blue skies of infinite consciousness and the peace of mind that as a race, we are all so desperately seeking.

Eckhart Tolle is a German-born Canadian resident, best known as the author of the The Power of Now and A New Earth, which were written in English. In 2011, he was listed by the Watkins Review as the most spiritually influential person in the world. In 2008, a New York Times writer called Tolle “the most popular spiritual author in the United States”.

He says he was depressed for much of his life until he underwent, at age 29, an “inner transformation”, then spent several years wandering and unemployed “in a state of deep bliss” before becoming a spiritual teacher. Later, he moved to North America where he began writing his first book, The Power of Now, which was published in 1997, and reached the New York Times Best Seller lists in 2000. Tolle settled in Vancouver, Canada, where he has now lived for over 10 years.

The Power of Now and A New Earth sold an estimated three million and five million copies respectively in North America by 2009. In 2008, approximately 35 million people participated in a series of 10 live webinars with Tolle and television talk-show personality Oprah Winfrey. Tolle’s books and teachings have stimulated much commentary from theologians and journalists. Tolle is not identified with any particular religion, but his work has been influenced by a wide range of spiritual teachings.

Lee talking as part of the ‘Panel Channel’ at the MSNEC in Santa Fe, September 11th 2011. Topics include emotional balance, psychic opening, the coming 2 years, and dealing with conflict and judgment.

If you’re looking to understand your self a little better, then this is a great video series to watch. Well written… well spoken… well needed. – m

Eckhart’s profound yet simple teachings have already helped countless people throughout the world find inner peace and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of the teachings lies the transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening that he sees as the next step in human evolution. An essential aspect of this awakening consists in transcending our ego-based state of consciousness. This is a prerequisite not only for personal happiness but also for the ending of violent conflict endemic on our planet.

Coincidences are not accidents but signals from the universe which can guide us toward our true destiny…

From “The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire” by Deepak Chopra. © 2003 by Deepak Chopra. Excerpted by permission of Harmony, a division of Random House, Inc.

Most of us go through life a little afraid, a little nervous, a little excited. We are like children playing hide and seek, wanting to be found, yet hoping we won’t be, biting our nails with anticipation. We worry when opportunity approaches a little too closely, and hide deeper in the shadows when fear overcomes us. This is no way to go through life. People who understand the true nature of reality, those whom some traditions call enlightened, lose all sense of fear or concern. All worry disappears. Once you understand the way life really works—the flow of energy, information, and intelligence that directs every moment—then you begin to see the amazing potential in that moment. Mundane things just don’t bother you anymore. You become lighthearted and full of joy. You also begin to encounter more and more coincidences in your life.

When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities. This is when the magic begins. This is a state I call synchrodestiny, in which it becomes possible to achieve the spontaneous fulfillment of our every desire. Synchrodestiny requires gaining access to a place deep within yourself, while at the same time awakening to the intricate dance of coincidences out in the physical world.

When a coincidence arises, don’t ignore it. Ask yourself, What is the message here? What is the significance of this? You don’t need to go digging for the answers. Ask the question, and the answers will emerge. They may arrive as a sudden insight, a spontaneous creative experience, or they may be something very different. Perhaps you will meet a person who is somehow related to the coincidence that occurred. An encounter, a relationship, a chance meeting, a situation, a circumstance will immediately give you a clue to its meaning. “Oh, so that’s what it was all about!”

The key is to pay attention and inquire.

Just as the beehive is an ancient symbol of knowledge, so the bee is an initiate and Arcadia the landscape on which it feeds. Immerse yourself, and taste the honey that wisdom brings.

I love the notion of Arcadia; a paradise or golden age lost in antiquity, preserved in mythology, and commemorated by countless generations. In harmony with this theme, I’ve chosen the motif of a bee entering a hive – brilliantly designed by Mark Foster – as a symbol of an initiate’s immersion in knowledge, for this is what a beehive represents, esoterically; the collective wisdom of the ages.

Arcadia provides a perspective on history’s mysteries. And while it features my writing, research and insights, it also showcases the new and fascinating ideas of others, both in the Forum and in Guest Articles. Want to share your work? Well then, this is your chance.

Welcome to Arcadia. Now that you’ve entered the hive, isn’t it time you immersed yourself in the mysteries?

Arcadia is a state of mind.
